Family and Children’s Services is licensed by the State of New Jersey, Department of Human Services / Division of Mental Health Services, certified by the Department of Children and Families for adoption services and an approved Medicaid and Tricare provider

OUR MISSION
Family and Children’s Services (FACS) is an independent non-profit behavioral health and social services agency based in Elizabeth, NJ serving Union County and the surrounding areas with an emphasis on those most vulnerable, at-risk, disadvantaged and under-served.

In the past year, clients received a full array of counseling, assessment, referral, case management and support services:
 
1,113 Child Abuse Prevention / Family Stabilization
Services are designed to strengthen individual and family functioning, improve parenting skills, prevent abuse and neglect, stabilize families in crisis and enable families to remain intact.
 
258 Child & Family Permanency
Services are designed to provide contact for parents, children and siblings separated by foster care, assess strengths of parents for child permanency plans and possible family reunification, assess and support foster, adoptive and kinship families, and place children in adoptive families or other permanent homes.
 
480 Individual / Group / Couples and Family Counseling
Services are designed to assess and strengthen individual and family functioning, prevent abuse and neglect, prevent delinquency and promote positive self-esteem and individual development for children, youth and adults.
 
122 Direct Client Assistance
Individuals benefited from community service and client assistance programs.
